Hello PFS Families,
October is here and it is bringing some wonderful life into our School Borough and our forested locations. This week, our immersion into resilience and nature connection shined bright through the rains as we had our All School Fire Assembly during our travel day to BREC. We still were without a central fire (burn ban was still in place) and yet our students embraced the core values of PFS by organizing into mixed-age clans traversing the land, actively honing naturalist skills with staff in the lead. These clans, made up of students from various pods, practiced skills: fox walk, deer ears, and owl eyes. There was excitement as one clan found, ID’d and followed a newly laid trail of bear cub tracks. We spent time observing and trailing the sign, taking care to follow the newly put down trail for only so far!
The changing leaves offer us a unique opportunity to embrace this shift in the outdoors as we explore new adventures. Please be sure that all of your child’s rain gear is labeled clearly for adventure and an avoidance of the soggy “lost and found” bin! We have many things happening this month so please read on for all that is coming!
