We wanted to start a public list of Portland preschools for families looking for an education option for their younger children. This is a list of preschools who we have talked to, who have a similar pedagogy as our K-8th grade independent school.

Portland Play Project
Is a Reggio-inspired, play based and ecologically focused preschool in NE Portland, Oregon, serving children ages 2.75-5. We are a collaborative community that embraces inclusivity, nurtures each child’s innate sense of curiosity and wonder and provides children with social and emotional tools to become kind, empathic and compassionate people.

Sprout and Spark School
Is sprawled across two acres of gardens, meadow, shady PNW forest, and groves of mature cedars and firs, in a secluded forest just a few minutes off I-5 in SW Portland. Outside, we offer focused lessons on gardening, animal care, sports, and forest ecology. On nice days, students may also use the outdoor space for art projects, picnics, or Montessori work.
