In early spring, our class pods are preparing for our Great Ivy Pull! This fun event will be during the school day. We are partnering with the Weed Warriors, a Mt Tabor restoration team, to participate in a "pull-a-thon," where student’s will compete pod vs pod and raise money based on the number of feet of ivy they remove from designated restoration sites on Mt Tabor.

English Ivy, while seemingly innocuous, is a real threat to our local ecosystems. As a non-native invasive species, it aggressively out competes native plants for sunlight, water, and nutrients, ultimately reducing biodiversity and disrupting natural habitats. Here in Portland, ivy's spread smothers trees, destabilizes hillsides, and diminishes the overall health of our beloved green spaces.
